Domain Extension Mobilizes Organizations to File Disputes

Many companies believe .mobi domain names are important, and important enough to file claims to win the rights to them according to DomainNameWire.com. In a post last week, the site noted that since .mobi was released there have been over 150 such disputes filed with the National Arbitration Forum and the World Intellectual Property Organization.

Some of the .mobi disputes filed with the National Arbitration Forum involved well-known trademarks like, click on each mark to be taken to the decision: AAA American Automobile Association, Bridgestone Tires, Diners Club, Nike, Thomson Reuters and Las Vegas Venetian Hotel.

Disputes over domain names with the .mobi extension are eligible for the UDRP (Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy) administered by the National Arbitration Forum. The UDRP applies to:
