6 Spooky Arbitration Decisions

National Arbitration Forum dispute resolution panelists have heard and decided disputes over thousands of domain names under the domain name dispute resolution program governed by ICANN. Here are a few cases decided by the National Arbitration Forum that involve spooky domain names:

Ghostpcl.com
The complaint involving this eerie domain name was filed by Artifex Software Inc. on May 31, 2005. On July 13, 2005 the domain name was ordered to be transferred from Page Technology Marketing.

VampireHuntress.com
Leslie Esdaile Banks filed a claim for this frightening domain name on January 19, 2007. It was decided that LBP Enterprises could keep it. Banks’ claim was denied on March 6, 2007.

SalemHauntedHappenings.com
BPM Productions, Inc. of Salem, Massachusetts conjured a complaint against Bog of Kemerovo, Estonia on September 25, 2002. The arbitrator ordered that the domain name be transferred to Complainant on November 14, 2002.

Thirteen.com
On January 5, 2007, Educational Broadcasting Corporation filed a claim for this bad luck domain name. DomainWorks Inc. c/o Eric Woodward was able to keep the URL. On April 18, 2007, Complainant’s claim was denied.

Skeletor.com
Mattel, Inc. of El Segundo, California sought rights to skeletor.com from domain owner Kim Dong Jin of BupyeongGu, Incheon, Korea on June 3, 2002. Mattel’s claim was denied on July 19, 2002.

Diablo.com
The decision involving this devilish URL was filed by Vivendi Universal Games and Davidson & Associates, Inc. of Los Angeles, California on April 15, 2003. On May 22, 2003, Diablo Design of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was ordered to transfer the domain name to Complainant.
