Celebrated all around the world in order to increase public awareness about conflict resolution (mediation, conciliation, negotiation, arbitration, and facilitation) and its many benefits, Conflict Resolution Day takes place on the third Thursday of each October. The day was created in 2005 by the Association for Conflict Resolution.As part of this recognition effort, ACR coordinates with other conflict resolution organizations to build interest by holding local celebrations in conjunction with Conflict Resolution Day. Awareness has been spread in many places around the United States (Colorado, Indiana, Maryland, Washington…), around the world (Canada, India, Israel, Portugal…), and online:
