"There are exciting ADR (alternative dispute resolution) dynamics coming to fruition [in Bahrain]," said William Slate II in an article for the Gulf Daily Times. The president of the American Arbitration Association was talking about his company's advancement into Bahrain, where they have signed a memorandum of understanding to work with Bahrain's Justice Center.
Both domestic and regional disputes will be settled in Bahrain once the landmark dispute resolution center opens. The center will provide public and private arbitration and mediation services.
"As countries such as Bahrain enhance growth opportunities in financial arenas - including the expanding role of Islamic finance - the potential contributions of ADR systems become increasingly more important and promising," said Slate.
"This is of critical importance to meet the demands of commercial development in the region," said Justice and Islamic Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa. "The new centre will make Bahrain a 'centre for dispute resolution' for the region."
